In the second quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps apps on Android in Oceania demonstrated varied trends in downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained strong performance in weekly downloads, starting at around 11.6K and peaking at 16.1K by the end of June. The active user base showed fluctuations, beginning at 521K, dipping mid-quarter, and recovering to 556K.

Google Earth experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, with numbers ranging from 4.1K to a peak of 5.6K. Active users also grew from 50.7K to 69K, indicating a consistent rise in engagement.

Live Traffic NSW saw a significant spike in downloads mid-quarter, reaching 19.5K, while the active user count peaked at 17K before stabilizing to around 8.9K by the end of June.

Polarsteps Travel showed a gradual increase in downloads, with a high of 3.3K in late May. Active users, however, declined from 19.9K to 19.2K over the quarter.
